Center for Student Involvement: Community Service

Community Service Awards

Each year the Community Service Office and the Clemson University Service Alliance recognize the outstanding service being done by Clemson University students, faculty, staff and community partners. Nominations for the 2007-2008 Awards will be accepted through March 27.

Award Descriptions:

Student Community Service Organization of the Year

This award goes to the student service organization who has shown a strong commitment to service in the Clemson community. Criteria include quality and quantity of programs, strength of organizational leadership, and partnerships with both off-campus and on-campus groups.

Outstanding Community Service Collaboration Award

This award is presented to a partnership that best exemplifies the principles of collaboration, reciprocity, and common purpose. This can be accomplished through either a single, ongoing project or multiple programs, provided it demonstrates a strong and mutual relationship involving campus entity (e.g., a student organization, academic department, or campus office) and a non-profit organization.

Service-Learning Advocacy Award

This award is presented to a faculty or staff member who demonstrates an exceptional commitment to serving the community. This can be done via classroom projects, community partnerships, and/or advising student organizations. Nominees for this award should show a desire to go “above and beyond” expectations.
