Center for Student Involvement: Community Service

Tiffany Marie Souers Community Service Mini-Grant Program

The Tiffany Marie Souers Community Service Mini-Grant Program was established by family, friends and Kappa Kappa Gamma sisters to honor her life and to celebrate her service to the community.  Awards will be given out each semester to support service projects undertaken by Clemson University students which benefit the Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens County area.

Who should apply for a Tiffany Marie Souers Community Service Mini-Grant?

Student organizations and classes are encouraged to apply for funding to support their new or existing service projects.  Individual students may also apply, but preference will be given to applications which involve more than one student.  Faculty and staff are not eligible to apply.

Funding Guidelines

  1. The maximum amount for a funding request is $200.
  2. Applicants must be enrolled as Clemson University students during the period of the project.
  3. Only volunteer projects are eligible. Any project for which participating students will receive wages, salaries, or a stipend is not eligible for funding.
  4. All projects must have a Clemson University faculty or staff project monitor. Peers and/or persons with no University affiliation cannot be project monitors.
  5. Preference will be given to applicants demonstrating a long term commitment to a project.
  6. Projects must benefit the Anderson, Oconee or Pickens County areas.
  7. A final report must be submitted within two weeks of the completion of the funded project. The report should be limited to no more than two typed pages and should include the project name and a succinct description of the project’s status. Attach a separate sheet itemizing how the Tiffany Marie Souers Community Service Mini-Grant was used along with receipts. The final report should address the following issues:
    • Achievement of the proposed goals
    • Description of the completed project
    • Impact the project had on the students involved, the sponsoring organization, and the population served.
    • Photos of the project and participants, if possible
  8. Recipients with on-campus accounts will have funds transferred to their account and will submit copies of receipts along with the final report.  Recipients without on-campus accounts will submit original receipts in order to be reimbursed for project expenses.
  9. Groups may request funds more than once, but preference will be given to first time requests.
  10. Examples of uses of mini-grant funds include supplies, food, or donations to the philanthropic cause.
  11. All requested documentation and signatures must be included with the application for consideration.
