The Police Department acts as a central site for lost items. To report a lost or found item cla (864) 656-5265 or come by the Police Station between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Safety Escorts

Safety escorts are provided to university students, faculty, staff and visitors between 7p.m. and 7a.m. to and from any campus location.  The Student Patrol provides the support for this service, with police officers supplementing this program durng peak times and early morning hours.  To request an escort call (864) 656-2222.

The escort service is very popular and is used more than 40,000 times each year.  In order to maintain as timely service as possible we ask your help with this service by doing the following:

  • Drop off friends, luggage and groceries at the residence hall before parking. If each car requesting an escort only has one or two occupants and they are not carrying bulky items a larger number of calls for service can be handled by each van and the wait time to get a ride is more easily controlled.
  • Call when you get to the parking lot.  Calling ahead somtimes causes confusion if the van arrives before you do.
  • Let us know if you choose alternate transportation (CAT bus) after you initially call for an escort.  This will reduce wait times for others while the van is searching for someone who is no longer there.
  • Keep your doors locked and your headlights on until the escort arrives.
