University Housing at Clemson serves host to many nationally recognized fraternities and sororities. Typically, each organization is given a floor or section of the residence hall, depending on the structure of the building. These groups are also expected to uphold the campus and University Housing policies within the residence halls, as well as their own organization's nationally recognized housing guidelines. As a department, University Housing works with the organizations and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to assist the groups in making their assigned spaces feel comfortable and create a positive environment for the group.
Clemson's Fraternity and Sorority Housing on the Quad accommodates 444 students including women. Previously occupied by only fraternities of the Inter-fraternity Council, the Quad welcomed members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council and the Panhellenic Council in the fall of 2005.
Fraternity and Sorority Housing on the Quad consists of 18 houses: three each in Wannamaker, Bradley, Norris and Bowen; four in Donaldson; and one each in Simpson North and South. These houses are self-contained with entry only accessible to residents of a particular house. The amenities include chapter rooms, full kitchens with dining areas, study rooms and beautiful new outdoor assembly spaces.
The sororities are located in Smith, Barnett, Norris and one section of Bowen Hall.
Fraternities occupy Bowen, Donaldson, Bradley, Wannamaker, Simpson North and Simpson South.
