General RA Information
A Resident Assistant oversees the facilities, residents, and operations of an area of rooms, suites or apartments in University Housing. They will work to create an environment that meets a resident's needs for growth, safety, and security. The overall goal is to facilitate the resident's adjustment to college and to on-campus living, assimilate residents into a community, and help students develop academically and socially.
Apartment-Upperclass RA Information
An Apartment-Upperclass RA oversees the facilities, residents, and operations of an area of suites or apartments to create an environment that meets a student's need for growth, safety, and security. Apartment-Upperclass RAs will be knowledgeable of the needs of returning students and be responsive to those needs and concerns. They will also provide area-wide community development activities.
First Year Experience (FYE) RA Information
An FYE RA oversees the facilities, residents, and operations of a residence hall floor to create an environment that meets a student's need for growth, safety and security. The FYE program is designed to connect the learning opportunities in the residence hall with those in the campus community. FYE RAs will encourage students to take full advantage of the programs designed to promote a successful transition to college.
Fraternity and Sorority RA Information
A Fraternity and Sorority RA oversees the facilities, residents, and operations of his or her chapter's area. He or she will foster an environment that meets the needs for brotherhood or sisterhood development, safety, and security. The RA will promote and exemplify, through his or her leadership, the foundational values and principles of the chapter.
