New Student & Sophomore Programs

Clemson Connect

Clemson Connect

Clemson Connect is a program designated for students who are new to Clemson University. It is an integral part of your transition to Clemson Life and the Clemson Family. Clemson Connect is a series of activities and programs that will help you make academic and social connections, which will contribute to your success at Clemson University. At the heart of Clemson Connect is the continued focus on and fostering of Clemson's Core Values: integrity, honesty, and respect.

Clemson Connect is a pass/fail zero credit course which all new Clemson students are required to take, as well as complete associated homework assignments. Clemson Connect has five (5) components and activities in which all new students will participate:

  • iClemson- An online tutorial to demonstrate and learn about resources and strategies to keep students in tune with campus technology.
  • New Student Convocation- The formal beginning of Clemson Connect and formal welcoming to Clemson University by President Barker.
  • One Clemson: Yours, Mine & Ours- An engaging and interactive small-group program led by peer and faculty/staff facilitators, participants will begin to focus on what it means to be a part of the Clemson community and how it applies to their future success as members of a global community.
  • Summer Reading (Freshmen)- The follow-up program to the summer reading assignment. Students will hear a guest speaker related to the summer reading book, followed by a small group discussion lead by Clemson faculty and staff.
  • Mission: Transition (Transfer Students)- An informational and interactive presentation where students will learn about transfer resources and Clemson traditions, to support their needs and experience at Clemson.
  • Library Workshop- a 50 minute workshop that will help you save time and get better grades by improving your information research skills.
