About the Community Educators

The Creed of the Community Educators

As an educator to the Clemson community, I pledge to hold myself to a high standard of conduct, and be at all times a living example of Clemson’s Core Values of Integrity, Honesty, and Respect. I will be part of a body of action working to bring Clemson together as one unified community. I will be a voice to students, faculty, and staff to promote awareness of Clemson’s policies and expectations. I will be an open ear to the concerns of our fellow community members. I will be the open eyes to ensure that Clemson remains a safe and nurturing educational environment. I will be a light that leads by example. I will empower those around me to become responsible members of Clemson’s campus community and the global Clemson family. I accept my duties as a Community Educator and will serve as an advocate for those values that unite us all under Clemson’s tradition of excellence. (Written by Jon Luttrell, adopted March 3, 2008).

The Creed serves as a perfect example of the expectations for each student that becomes a part of this organization. The Community Educator Program is a mentoring program providing opportunities to students to learn more about the core values of Honesty, Integrity, and respect and how to apply those to everyday situations on campus. These students will also educate the campus population on campus norms, standard practices, and community expectations that are communicated through a variety of campus departments including: The Student Code of Conduct, The Clemson University Housing Contract, The Policy on Academic Integrity, etc.
