The Office of Community and Ethical Standards last year had a newsletter that was distributed to different people across campus. In an effort to appeal to more individuals this blog was created in an effort to get more people involved in the discussion about the core values. Through this blog, we can still tell the story of students who have incorporated the core values into their daily lives and personalizing them. Also, this webpage will provide information on core values education that is going on across campus.
I think the key reason for the switch has more to do with taking advantage of the technology that is available to us. Through the use of the blog, we can still deliver the same “article” type information, but instead of someone reading the article and putting it away, through the use of posting readers can become involved in the discussion. Also, other components can be added that would have been difficult through a webpage such as polls, video, hyperlinks, etc. This website will continuously be developed over the coming year. If you would like to provide feedback, feel free to contact our office and let us know what you think. Check it out, it’s pretty cool:
