The overall goal of this project is to assist Clemson University by integrating the substantial parking and transportation planning work already done into a comprehensive parking and transportation master plan (PTMP). The PTMP will function as a blueprint for parking and transportation planning, policy and financial program development for the next five years. The intent of the plan is that it must serve as a complimenting component of the overall Campus Master Plan. Carl Walker Inc. and Clemson University personnel will re-examine and test the validity of the recommendations found within this element of the 2002 Master Plan.

In addition to developing parking supply/demand assessments, this plan will also address parking resource allocation and management strategies and work to ensure that parking plays the proper support role in advancing the large university master plan and community vision.

Another important dimension to the proposed parking and transportation master plan is an evaluation of transit and transportation demand management strategies and their potential to mitigate the increasing demand for parking. This integrated approach to evaluating parking and transportation issues is intended to provide Clemson University with a more efficient and user-friendly parking and transportation system.

This website is one component of a "Project Communications Plan" designed to keep project team members, stakeholders and other interested parties well informed as this important study progresses.
