Mission Statement
Student Health Services strengthens the University community by providing quality services, programs and activities that promote the health, growth, and safety of the individual.
Vision Statement
Student Health Services strives to be an innovative health care system providing integrated quality services that are responsive to the needs of the University community.
Organizational Values
The students are the reason we are here. The staff of Student Health Services believes quality, integrity, accountability, respect and a caring and supportive attitude are priorities in all services and relationships.

Goals
- Provide quality services in a professional, considerate and confidential manner to ensure the patients/clients receive the optimum benefit from services rendered.
- Provide services based upon the needs of the University community.
- Provide quality services that are accessible and affordable.
- Provide services of high quality to eligible members of the University community.
- Facilitate student retention and optimize the student experience by avoiding unnecessary interruption in the student's educational experience through early and ongoing attention to health related concerns.
- Operate in a fiscally responsible manner that maintains sufficient revenue while controlling costs and charges.
Departmental Goals
Medical Services
- Provide medical services to students in order to maintain and/or improve the status of their health.
- Provide medical services to employees with work related illness/injury designed to reduce the risk of impairment.
- Provide medical services to authorized guests of the University (ex: campers, conference attendees, etc.) in order to maintain a healthy status during their visit to Clemson University.
- Assist in the referral to providers as required by the needs of the patient/client.
- Participate in University sponsored events, projects and committees as a representative of the health related concerns.
Counseling and Psychological Services
- Provide individual and group counseling in a manner that contributes to their personal growth and academic success.
- Provide crisis intervention to individuals and groups experiencing traumatic events that, without assistance, could negatively affect the student's personal and/or academic future.
- Conduct testing which can assist in diagnosis and lead to improved academic performance and personal growth.
- Develope outreach programming based upon the needs of the University community.
- Participate in University sponsored events, projects and committees as a representative of issues associated with mental health.
- Contribute to the academic mission of the University by participating in the student's classroom experience.
- Provide a learning experience for students by sponsoring internship for Master's level students.
Health Promotion
- Provide individual and group health education services which promote positive health.
- Sponsor special events, in collaboration with campus and community resources, which promote healthy choices and reduce risky behavior.
- Participate in university sponsored committees as a representative of issues associated with prevention and healthy living.
- Contribute to the academic mission of the University by participating in the student's classroom experience.
- Provide a learning experience for students as Graduate Assistants and Peer Health Educators.
- Provide services in accordance with the University's HIV/AIDS and Alcohol and Other Drugs policies.
