Access to CAPS Care

Students are welcome to contact CAPS to consult with a licensed professional regarding any concerns or questions they may have, the range of services offered, or the limitation of services offered.

CU Now Walk-in Clinic

Although CAPS is open 8-5, Monday through Friday, the preferred way for students to access services is through the CU Now, Walk-in Clinic. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Students may walk-in and be seen on a first-come, first served basis. Students are asked to complete preliminary paper work, which takes 20-30 minutes, and are then seen by a counselor for a brief session to assess their needs. For the initial session, the time spent with the counselor averages about 20 minutes. In total, students should plan for about an hour for this initial contact.

Appointments

Following the initial CU Now session, subsequent appointments are scheduled to accommodate the student’s needs and counselor’s availability. Individual and couple appointments are 50 minutes long. Group sessions are 90 minutes long. In the event that a student cannot access services through the CU Now, Walk-in clinic, contact 656-2451 for an appointment.

Cancellations

For cancellations, please notify your counselor as soon as possible and no later than 24-hours in advance.
