Redfern encourages students to participate actively in their health care decisions. Students may choose a primary health care provider to coordinate your health care needs. You may change providers at any time during your university experience-just let us know.
Questions to consider when choosing and evaluating a healthcare provider:
Do you:
- prefer a male or female provider?
- have a good relationship with your provider?
- feel comfortable with your provider and your treatment?
- feel like a partner in your health care?
- feel comfortable asking questions?
Does your provider:
- understand your concerns?
- have time to answer all your questions?
- fully explain your condition so you can understand your body?
- discuss your condition and treatment options thoroughly?
- give you information on how to take preventive measures in caring for yourself?
