Rising Star Award


Welcome! The Clemson University Rising Star Award is an annual award given to a first or second year student who is currently involved in leadership or service activities at Clemson University and actively pursuing future leadership roles. The recipient of this award sets a strong example for other student leaders and motivates peers to make a positive impact on the Clemson community.


The Rising Star Award is administered by Student Transitions and Family Programs in the Division of Student Affairs.


Award criteria are:


  • A first year or second year student with a minimum of 15 credit hours completed at Clemson University.

  • A minimum GPR of 3.0.

  • Currently involved in leadership or service activities at Clemson University.

  • Actively pursuing future leadership roles.

  • Completed application.

  • Contact information for one reference from Clemson (student, staff or faculty).


The winner will be recognized and honored with a plaque at the annual Student Awards Banquet in the spring.
