Vision

Through interaction with the Center for Student Involvement, Clemson University students will be engaged global citizens who live and lead with integrity.

Mission

The Center for Student Involvement will provide quality opportunities to intentionally challenge and develop students through involvement in organizations, leadership education, student events and community service. We will facilitate collaboration, leadership development and social responsibility to contribute to the development of the whole student.

Student Learning Outcomes

Student affairs professionals have a particular responsibility for ensuring that our campus is a true learning community committed to providing “transformative” educational experiences for all students. The Clemson University Division of Student Affairs has adopted four categories of student learning outcomes:

          • Self-Knowledge
          • Leadership and Communication
          • Social Responsibility
          • Life Skills Application

Each of the departments within the Division of Student Affairs has identified specific student learning outcomes to address during the 2008-2009 academic year. The Center for Student Involvement’s learning outcomes are

Leadership Development
Students who participate in CSI leadership programs will be able to articulate their personal leadership skills as demonstrated by responses on post-experience evaluations.

Clarified Values / Clemson Core Values
Students who participate in CSI leadership retreats will be able to identify personal and institutional core values as demonstrated by answers on post-experience evaluations.

Meaningful Interpersonal Relationships
Students who participate in a CSI leadership experience will be able to listen to and consider others’ points of view while treating them with respect as demonstrated by responses on post-experience evaluations.
