Legislation

The legislative power of the Graduate Student Body is vested in the Graduate Student Senate. The Senate is composed of Senators from each graduate degree program, as identified by the Office of the Registrar on July 1st if each year.  Each graduate degree program is entitled to representation by two Senators, of which each Senator has one vote.

Among the powers the senate has are to: enact resolutions and bills, act upon petitions for recognition by graduate student organizations, create committees, and establish rules governing membership of the legislative body.
