Medical Insurance
Every group is required to purchase insurance for all participants (including commuters). Clemson University does not accept certificates of insurance from groups. The required insurance allows guests to receive medical care on campus at Redfern Health Center, after hours at Clemson Urgent Care, or a local hospital.
For most groups, the insurance cost is less than $1.00 per person per day. Your Housing Summer Programs invoice will include the charges for this insurance coverage.
Group sponsors should require a medical form from each participant at check-in or prior to arrival. In the event medical treatment is required, the medical form and a Clemson University claim form must accompany the participant when he or she visits Redfern or Clemson Urgent Care.
Liability Insurance
All off-campus groups are required to provide a general liability certificate to the Clemson University Office of Risk Management at least 72 hours prior to arrival date. The insurance must be a minimum of $1,000,000 combined single limit, per occurance, for bodily injury and property damage and must name Clemson University as an additional insured.
Security and Emergencies
Each residence hall and apartment area has a Hall Manager that is on call 24/7 for assistance. For non-emergency issues, they should be your first point of contact. Their work cell numbers will be given to you prior to your group's arrival on campus.
Housing Summer Programs offers a number that you can call in addition to the University police. Please use these numbers only in case of emergency.
Residence Hall and Apartment Area Front Desk Numbers
Please note that front desks are not always staffed, but voice mail will be checked on a regular basis. The area code for all numbers is 864.

Parking
Each guest that desires to have their personal vehicle parked on campus will be required to display a registered Clemson University parking permit. A parking map will accompany this hang tag. Guests may only park in areas designated on this map. Summer Programs is not responsible for tickets received while on campus. Group sponsors or the guest themselves will be responsible for obtaining these temporary parking permits. More information can be found at the Parking Services website.
