What is the Clemson area like?

Clemson University's scenic 1,400-acre campus is located on the shores of Lake Hartwell at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Popular summer attractions include mountain hiking, sailing, whitewater rafting and kayaking.

Clemson is 15 miles from Interstate 85, which provides direct routes from the airports in Atlanta, Ga., Charlotte, N.C., and Greenville, S.C. Driving times to Clemson on I-85 are two hours from Atlanta, two hours from Charlotte and 45 minutes from Greenville.

Clemson's total enrollment is just over 17,000 students, including over 4,000 who are pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering and the sciences. The Department of Electrical and Computer and Engineering has over 400 undergraduate majors and 180 graduate students.
