Environmental Policy
Clemson University's recently adopted Sustainability Action Plan is an important document that will only become more important in the future. A comprehensive understanding of the motivations behind this plan involve being aware of the policies that are required by state and federal agencies. These pages aim to give the introduction necessary to have a holistic understanding of this sustainable plan and mission.
The responsible use of all forms of energy and the good health of the community are high priorities of Clemson University. The policies that have been developed over the last several years make clear statements that the University embraces these priorities and will invest in them through every major project.
The following sections under "Learn the Law" give an introduction to the past and present environmental policies that affect Clemson University. With an education of the current law of which the University currently complies is useful for identifying procedures, responsibilities, exemptions and requirements that will render University policy useful. In addition, an understanding of the policies in effect on campus are important to understand the many efforts and initiatives going on behind the scenes.
