The Clemson Sustainable Agriculture Program coordinates sustainable agriculture training and education programs for farmers, agriculture professionals and others with an interest in sustainable agriculture. The Program is supported by the USDA Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education (SARE) Program, and funds are used to organize workshops, classes and other activities on topics related to sustainable agriculture, organic farming and local foods. The Clemson Student Organic Farm located on campus in the Clemson Bottoms is a resource for teaching and research in sustainable/organic agriculture production and marketing. In addition to teaching and research, the farm produces a diversity of certified organic vegetables, fruit, herbs and cut flowers that are sold to the public at the Farm Market (held each Wednesday afternoon during the season) and through a Community Supported Agriculture program where members pay a fee and receive weekly shares of produce.
