Clemson began building the $12 million dollar, 80,000 square
foot, Brooks Center
for the performing arts in 1991. Bruce F. Cook is named
director of center.
In 1991, Tiger Band traveled to Tokyo, Japan along with
members of Duke University’s marching band to participate
in the Japan Bowl, sponsored by Coca-Cola.
IPTAY provided the funds needed to purchase uniforms again,
in 1993.
The Brooks Center was completed in 1994 and Tiger Band
finally had a permanent home, with an exclusive band practice
field nearby.
Clemson University Bands hosted the 1995 Yamaha Sounds
of Summer music camp co-sponsored by Pecknel Music Company;
featuring percussion expert Fred Sanford (member of the
Drum Corps International hall of Fame).
