The research investigation into transit coordination in South Carolina must hold at its foundation information about who holds an interest in transit provision. These stakeholders include organizations that provide transportation service, governmental agencies involved in working with transportation funding or regulation, nonprofit groups targeted at issues such as environmental impacts of transportation or services to the elderly, and others. The following links lead to a listing of stakeholders identified through public databases and interactions with leaders in South Carolina transit coordination.

Please note that the quintessential stakeholder for public transportation is the general public: both the traveling public, the non-traveling public affected by the presence of transit vehicles, and the taxpaying public supporting transit service (or conversely, private vehicle infrastructure). The various unorganized public stakeholders do not appear on this list of stakeholder organizations, but the needs and interests of the public receive representation in the case study phase of this research project.
