 On The Run

                             3 Hours Later

Chapter 2 (Thoughts) :  As Kim was sitting on the train looking out the window, Andrea was sitting at a deserted coffee shop on the edge of the country side trying to soothe her nerves with a cup up of unsweetened very dark coffee which by now was giving her a painful headache. Thoughts ran through her head, dark images came back to her she remembered that night, that night when she could hear the crickets chirping as if saying “don’t do it you know what’s right,” but still her older sister was taunting her “you’re to scared, you can’t do it” then she had that burning feeling to prove to her that she could. If only she wasn’t that stupid, she wouldn’t have gotten her self in this huge mess. If only, If only.

Chapter 3 (Watched): Kim was just leaving the train when she received a phone call on her cell phone. Normally she would have answered but since of what had happened she looked at the caller id and decided what to do. The caller id stated unknown and didn’t give a number, so she went ahead and answered.

“Hello, Hello anybody there,” said Kim.

Silence nothing could be heard on the other line. Then it came…

“I know what you did, you can’t hide from me.” And just like that the line on the other side went dead.

Kim stopped in her tracks she looked around her, bewildered, who was that and how do they know what she did.

Andrea by this time had given up on her coffee and decided to pay for it and leave; although in her mind it didn’t deserve it. Where would she go, that question pondered her mind as annoying as a mosquito trying to land on a bare spot of your skin where you wouldn’t be able to slap it. She couldn’t go back home, the police had sent many search hunts for them and her photo was posted like a cowboys in the west. Andrea sighed why did she do it, why at this point of her life did she decide to go wrong? This was the point of her life were completing high-school and earning her diploma mattered. All those day dreams all those times when she would be caught in Algebra class day dreaming about her supposedly successful future, all those times she had been thinking of what to pursue in college, or how to run her own business, but what did it matter now she was a failure a nobody to the people who met her. The world looked at her with shame everybody’s eyes seemed to taunt her, telling her you aren’t good enough, you won’t make it, and it was because she had become a follower and not a leader, at a strong, important part of her life where she should have said NO!!! Oh, but she had gone a long with that stupid scheme. Why? It was as if a part of her life had faded away and the other part was just a part that walked and spoke. No emotions, no feelings, no taste of life, no laughter, no tears, she was just in shock.

Chapter 4 (Someone Knows):  Kim was in a Quick Serve, Quick Eat Restaurant eating a hamburger when she thought one of the people sitting in the fast food restaurant was actually spying on her. The guy was holding a Pocket PC with what seemed to be the manual for it. Although the guy would seem to be very interested in reading the instructions, when Kim would turn to look at the window she could see his reflection peering at her. He seemed to be examining every move she made, every dart that her eyes made, and after observing her he would look back at the PC and hit a few keys as if recording Kim’s every move and at that moment, Kim knew, someone was on her trail, someone was watching, someone knew.

Text Box: Chapter 1 (The Fight):  “We can’t keep doing this, Kim.”
“Why not, it a great way to see new places and a great way to stay on the run form the police,” lowering her voice into a whisper.
“Sooner or later someone’s going to find out and we’re going  to be recognized.”
“Just chill will ya, if you keep fretting you’re going to give yourself away.”
“Kim we’re on the run from the police, we have been on the news for days and you still think that everybody thinks that we’re cute little teenagers.”
“Just shush, I’m going to go buy the tickets and if you want to ride the train with me you can and if you don’t, fine, I’ll go to Chicago without you, understand.”
“No, I don’t understand, I thought we were friends for life, I thought sisters stick together liked the so- called saying everybody once told us “you guys are two peas in a pod. I thought (now Andrea speaking while sobbing hysterically) that one day we were gona become two popular scholars and everybody would want us to work for them. Now look at us we are high school dropouts!”
A few people had started to stare at the two sisters.
Kim jumped up and said “Oh, sometimes she gets very emotional,” taking Andrea by the hand and patting her on the back just for the passing strangers.
“What were you thinking crying out like that you almost gave us away with your little pathetic speech,” Kim hissed.
Pathetic, you’re the one that’s pathetic once mom and dad moved away; all you’ve been acting like is a devil, and with that Andrea stomped off leaving Kim with the tickets in her hand and the captain faintly calling all aboard!
