Weeds to Watch | ||||||||||||||
| Changing agricultural production practices produces shifts in troublesome weeds. As recent as 20 years ago common cocklebur was the most common and most troublesome weed problem in U.S. agriculture. Today, new chemical compounds and technological innovations have all but eliminated common cocklebur from row crop production. However, different weeds have become prevelent to fill this niche. The following weeds are becomming more troublesome to agriculture in South Carolina.
