Registration Information

Registration Opening Date
Camp registration is open for the 2008 camping season. Do not delay in registering. Every week filled up last year with a waiting list.

Early Bird Registration
Register by Saturday, March 15, 2008 , and get a $25 discount.

Returning Camper?
If your child was a camper at any of our camps in 2007 (Sewee, Voyager, Wildlife or 4-H Camp), he or she will automatically receive the returning camper discount of $35.

Age
The Camper must be 8 by the start of camp.

Fees for Camp
Deposit of $100 is applied to total camp fees. Fees include all activities, lodging, meals, instruction and supervision, limited medical insurance, canteen, and a T-Shirt. Campers will have the opportunity to visit the S. C. Aquarium gift shop and may need additional money if they wish to purchase souvenirs. We do take monthly payments and the final payment must be paid three (3) weeks before your week of camp starts.

Required Paperwork
At the water parkUpon receipt of the registration, we will send the applicant

  • a map
  • information materials
  • a Camper Information Form
    (which includes Permission Form, Health Form, Medical Statement, Discipline Policy)
  • a list of things to bring to camp
  • a kayaking permission form

The Camper Information Form must be returned to the Institute three (3) weeks prior to the start date of camp session your child(ren) is attending. It must be on file for your child(ren) to participate in camp. Your child(ren) will not be able to attend camp without this form.

Health Form
A Health Form is required on each camper attending Camp Sewee. This form is part of the Camper Information Form. It includes a statement by a health examiner that the camper is physically able to participate in camp. Your wellness check or any health examination done within the last 24 months can be used to meet this requirement. An examination from your County Health Department will also meet this requirement.

Final Payment and Paperwork Due
The final payment and all paperwork is due at the Youth Learning Institute 3 (three) weeks before camp starts.

Deadline
Registration for Camp Sewee closes 2 (two) weeks prior to each session or when camp capacity is reached which ever comes first.

Refunds
Refunds will be issued (except the non-refundable $100 deposit) when requested in writing at least two (2) weeks prior to the start of the camp session. No refunds will be issued within two (2) weeks of camp or after camp starts.

Space
Space is limited to 43 campers per week and all of the weeks last year had a waiting list, so register early!
