Sewee Coastal Retreat Center
A Lowcountry treasure that truly lives up to its name, Sewee Coastal Retreat Center offers a relaxing, refreshing coastal retreat for groups of all ages. With scenic views, abundant wildlife and access to nearby barrier islands and historic Charleston, this 43-acre property on the Intracoastal Waterway provides year-round opportunities to explore South Carolina’s coast.
Site features include classrooms and meeting spaces, lodging, recreational fields, nature trails, fishing dock, boat access ramp, “black water” kayaking and more. In partnership with the Sea Grant Consortium and the S.C. Department of Natural Resources, programs can include hands-on explorations of tidal creeks, Carolina bays, salt marshes, marine plants and animals, a maritime forest and more.
On-site Programs
Camp Sewee is an amazing Marine Science Summer Camp that your child will not soon forget. Camp Sewee is held at the Sewee Coastal Retreat Center and is for campers age 8-16
Expedition Sewee is a 2 or 3 day Marine Science field study for grades 2-8.
