YouthBuild is a Federal grant program developed to teach construction skills to high school dropouts (ages 17-24). The purpose of the YouthBuild program is to assist disadvantaged young adults in completing their high school education, to provide on-site construction training experiences which also results in the rehabilitation or construction of housing for low-and very low-income families, to foster leadership skills, to further opportunities for placement in apprenticeship programs and to promote economic self sufficiency. The basic program components include:
· Remedial academic instruction with the goal of helping trainees
