Minor in Accounting

A minor consists of at least 15 semester credits, with no fewer than nine credits at the 3000 level or higher. A student cannot major and minor in the same field or acquire a minor that is not allowed by the degree program. In programs that require a minor, courses may not be used to fulfill both the major and minor requirements. Courses used to fulfill general education requirements, however, may be counted toward the minor. Students are encouraged to contact the department offering the minor for advising. A student may specify two minors to record in his or her academic record.

Note:
  • Students pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting are not required to complete a minor. If they choose to complete a minor, they should complete the Change in Academic Program paperwork with their advisor identifying the minor.
  • Some minor courses have prerequisite requirements. Students should select a minor and take any prerequisites as early as possible in their academic careers.
