Bachelor of Science in Financial Management

The Department of Finance offers a Bachelor of Science in financial management to more than 400 students each year. We also offer a minor in finance to approximately 250 students.

Finance deals with the planning and management of monetary resources in relation to current or future goals and objectives. Students learn how to measure, forecast, and control the financial activities of the organization. The financial management degree provides students with finance and business expertise and contributes to their proficiency in analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.

Employment and Graduate School Opportunities

Our students are highly recruited within the Southeast region. Our national reputation continues to grow and allows us to assist students seeking employment outside of the Southeast as well. Recent employers have included: Bank of America, Fluor, Milliken, Northwestern Finance, SunTrust, TD Bank, Vanguard and Wells Fargo among many others. We also have many students go on to graduate programs in business, medicine or law.

Declaring a Financial Management Major

To enter the bachelor's degree program, students must complete the 30 credit hours outlined in the freshman pre-business curriculum with a cumulative GPR of 2.0 or better. Students follow the curriculum catalog requirements effective for the year in which they enter the financial management major.
