International Planning Studio

International Studio Main Page

The International Studio course provides students with the opportunity to learn about planning practice in an international context. The course offers a positive, rigorous, and engaged international experience for advanced undergraduate students in Landscape Architecture and graduate students in City and Regional Planning (CRP) and Landscape Architecture. The studio exposure provides project oriented experience which includes: exposure and participation in a planning process across a cross-cultural setting, collaboration with students and faculty from multiple countries (such as Poland, Germany, Turkey, Serbia, South Africa, and the United States); and engagement with residents of an international community/neighborhood.

Each year the one-week course is hosted by a different participating university. The main purpose of the studio workshop is to encourage the international exchange of students and academics. In addition to the studio experience, the event includes a day long scientific paper session and opportunities to explore the hosting university and city.
