The Minor

The field of Gender, Sexuality, & Women's Studies focuses on the role of women in all facets of human endeavor. This multi-disciplinary field examines women's lives and accomplishments in the context of history, sociology, psychology, medicine, economics, law, and politics and highlights women's creativity in art, music, and literature.

Students who choose a minor in Gender, Sexuality, & Women's Studies are taught to ask critical questions about the portrayal of women in the media, to think analytically about women's place in American politics, to see connections across diverse cultures, and to communicate their discoveries to others. A minor in Women's Studies will allow you to enhance your analytical skills and give you a broad understanding of women's contributions in the humanities and the social sciences.
