M.Arch., Architectural School of Madrid, Technical University of Madrid (2001)

Curriculum Vitae

Franco holds an M.Arch. from the School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM) and is on the track to get his Ph.D. in Architecture Theory from the University San Pablo CEU Madrid on 2015. He will be teaching design studio and courses on history, theory and criticism.

Research Focus: Franco’s main research interest is on critical theory and architecture and, more specifically on how to apply it to formulate a contemporary notion of architectural realism. He is also interested on the political implications of everyday life on the built environment, and on the theorization of alternative building technologies.

Personal note: Last year David moved with his wife and three children from one of the densest areas in the old center of Madrid, where he was born and has lived most of his life, to Moscow, a rural university town in Northern Idaho. Their journey then brought them across the US from Northwest to Southeast to move to South Carolina and start a new life in Clemson.
