Auditioning for the Performing Arts Major

An audition/interview is required for students wishing to pursue the Production Studies in Performing Arts degree in Audio Technology, Music, or Theatre. 
* No audition is required for the Music or Theatre Minor.
Step 1
Apply to Clemson University by the December 1 deadline.
Please visit the Admissions Office web site for complete application procedures for Freshmen and/or College Transfer students.

Step 2
Once you have completed your Clemson University Application, the Department of Performing Arts will send you an audition information packet by mail. This packet will include a password to fill out the online audition form.  Please complete the form before your audition date.
Our 2019 audition dates are Saturday, January 26th and Saturday, February 2nd.
Step 3

Audition/Interview Day

  • Be in the lobby of the Brooks Theatre before 10 am on your audition day. (Doors will open at 9 am)

  • Dress appropriately.

  • Bring a resumé detailing your performing arts experiences and background.

  • Bring two letters of recommendation to be turned in at check-in and if applicable, your music accompaniment.

Note: Transfer and Change of Major Students Students interested in changing their major to Production Studies in Performing Arts (Audio Technology, Music, or Theatre), should contact the Department of Performing Arts to obtain access to the online audition form. Please note that a minimum of a 2.8 GPA is required for students who want to enter the program.
