Curriculum Vitae

Adam specializes in medical ethics and the philosophy of medicine and biomedical ethics. The main focus of his research is the ethics of organ donation, with an emphasis on the validity of brain-death-based death declarations and the normativity of the 'dead-donor' rule. Adam’s current work focuses on topics such as action theory, the ontology of human beings, the character of life, the legal and moral standing of conscientious objections made in clinical practice, and the wrongness of killing. He also maintains teaching and research interests in ethics, environmental ethics, science and values, and formal logic.
