Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Read serves as Director of the Master of Real Estate Development Program at Clemson University. Prior to this post, he held leadership positions in the real estate programs at Virginia Tech and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Some of his research interests include affordable housing, land use policy, and public-private partnerships. Dr. Read is a NAIOP Research Foundation Distinguished Fellow, an inductee into the Institute of Real Estate Management’s Academy of Authors, and a seven-time recipient of honors from the American Real Estate Society for his contributions to real estate theory and practice. His research can be found in many of the leading academic journals in his field including the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Journal of Real Estate Research, and Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Read frequently consults with both public and private sector organizations to promote socially responsible real estate development.
