Women's Leadership

Bachelor of Arts in Women's Leadership

Our Mission

The Women's Leadership program integrates rigorous academic coursework with practical, real-world experiences, equipping students with the essential skills, knowledge, resilience, and experiential learning opportunities necessary to lead in contemporary fields.

The major is designed to work well as a stand alone major or as a second major. All students in the program will develop an individualized course of study tailored to their interests and career goals.

In addition to General Education requirements and 120 total hours, majors in Women’s Leadership must complete 33 hours of coursework in the major, as follows:

Internship Information

“In my courses I studied examples of women leaders, including how they dealt with challenges and acquired leadership skills. More importantly, the professors and advisers I met through the Women’s Leadership major encouraged me to question which of my own behaviors and those around me stem from societal gender roles – and whether these behaviors might be limiting in the professional world. I learned not to apologize when asking questions, to make sure I receive credit for my ideas, to be bold when networking and pursuing opportunities, and to approach new challenges with confidence in my own abilities. I’m grateful for all that I learned as a Women’s Leadership major and everything that the major has helped me accomplish in the past four years.”
