School of Nursing Receives Top Marks from CCNE

The Clemson University School of Nursing Clemson University School of Nursing received the maximum 10 years of continuing accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education following an extensive self study and spring 2010 accreditation visit. The commission notified the School of Nursing that all accreditation standards were met with no compliance concerns. 

The School of Nursing, part of the College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences, has held national nursing accreditation since 1972. The school has programs leading to baccalaureate degrees and baccalaureate for registered nurses degrees. The school also offers Master of Science degrees with specialized options for nurse practitioners, nurse educators, nursing administrative leadership and clinical nurse specialists. Graduates of the undergraduate and graduate programs exceed national pass rates for licensure and certification. The School of Nursing is home to the first interdisciplinary Ph.D. in healthcare genetics in the nation.

Continuous National Accreditation

The Clemson University School of Nursing has been continuously accredited since 1972. In 2005, the School of Nursing moved to CCNE with the decision that this group was a better fit for baccalaureate and higher degree programs. This transition allowed for a one-year overlap of the two accreditors. Initial accreditation with CCNE was the maximum of five years. The renewal visit in 2010 achieved the maximum ten years of accreditation noted above.
