Profile

I have over 25 years of expertise in nursing informatics and have worked on several projects with computer science faculty. I have a joint appointment with Human-Centered Computing (HCC) Division in the School of Computing. My role is to bridge the gap between nursing and technology. I teach nursing informatics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. I teach both undergraduate students (NURS 140 – Computer Applications in Healthcare) as well as graduate students (NURS 850 - Information and Control Systems for Nursing Leadership). I have also had four Nursing Informatics Interns. I demonstrated record of nursing informatics related publications and internal funding. I received external funding from AHRQ to assist in developing a pediatric virtual patient system.
