What is Distance Education?

Distance Education provides Clemson University students with a flexible, convenient way to earn college credit. Clemson offers distance education courses so that students around the world can complete courses online or via video conferencing without stepping foot in a classroom. Each Distance Education class has an instructor who interacts with students, leads the course, and provides assistance. Distance Education course activities may include reading textbooks and study guides, engaging in online chats, watching videos, participating in group projects, using online discussion boards, and writing papers. Some online classes require live meetings over the internet or audio conferences.
