Important Date Reminders From Trish

For your afternoon reading pleasure, the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Manual has been updated and is on the department’s website.  The updates include rules that were approved last year by the Graduate School and it has been downsized from 80 pages to 25 pages. Duplicate information was taken out and you are referred to the University’s Graduate School’s Policy Handbook. So, at the end of the day, when you take a break from your classes and researching, read through the manual and handbook, you’ll be glad you did.

Mechanical Engineering Graduate Manual : http://www.clemson.edu/cecas/departments/me/academics/graduate/manual.html

University Graduate School’s Policy Handbook: https://www.clemson.edu/graduate/students/policies-procedures/index.html

Graduation Deadlines: https://www.clemson.edu/graduate/students/deadlines.html

Please remember to check this page for information on the deadlines to complete the application to graduate. If you miss the deadline, you could possibly end up having to pay some hefty late fees. Do not let this happen to you. The link also shows information and deadlines of submitting your defense form, the G7 forms and the final manuscript. There is also a checklist of Graduate School Procedures and contacts for offices you may need when graduating.

December 2018 deadline to apply for graduation is Tuesday, September 11, 2018. You must have a GS2 on file (Committee & Plan of Study) with Enrolled Student Services to be able to apply for graduation.

Safety Tips From Dr. Schweisinger

Absolutely no sharps (such as needles, razor blades, etc.), syringes, chemical containers, contaminated lab glassware, etc can be disposed of as recyclable material at Clemson University facilities. There has been an increase in fluorescent lamps being discarded in the dumpsters destined for regular landfill which must also be disposed of properly. For guidance on proper management and disposal of any lab items/debris or fluorescent lamps please contact Research Safety’s Hazardous Materials Manager, June Brock-Carroll juneb@clemson.edu.
