Dr. Kevin G. Vance is a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Political Science and the CISC. From 2018 - 2019, he was Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Clemson University, and from 2017 - 2018, he was the Forbes Postdoctoral Research Associate at the James Madison Program at Princeton University. Dr. Vance received a B.A. in Government from Claremont McKenna College and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame.

Dr. Vance's research interests include comparative and American political thought, American constitutional law, religious liberty, judicial politics, and political philosophy. He has published in the Oxford Journal of Law and Religion, in the Journal of Law and Courts along with Dr. Christopher McMillion, and in The Wiley Blackwell Companion to Religion and Politics in the U.S. along with Dr. Vincent Phillip Muñoz. He is currently working on a book chapter for Lincoln and Democratic Statesmanship (University of Kansas Press, forthcoming) that compares Abraham Lincoln's political thought and statesmanship to Henry Clay's.
