Sonoco FRESH (Food Research Excellence for Safety & Health) was established at Clemson University with generous philanthropic support from the Sonoco Foundation to have a major impact on the safety, security and sustainability of food. This means looking holistically at the food life cycle and identifying opportunities that reimagine processes, technologies and behaviors to protect the health of our society and reduce food waste. With top academic experts involved in every step of the food value chain, FRESH serves as a catalyst and unifier on campus, working closely with external partners. Clemson is positioned to drive solutions through faculty-sponsored research, student projects and the FRESH annual Food, Packaging and Sustainability Summit.
