Dr. White is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management and serves as a Research Associate for GIScience and Analytics at the Watt Family Innovation Center at Clemson University. Dr. White has a background in developing, planning, and implementing activities in support of Geographic Information Systems and real-time streaming data frameworks. His most recent efforts are focused on the design of real-time data visualization and analytics for smart building technologies using SAS Cloud technologies. His past efforts include the development of web-based metadata authoring systems, directing the deployment of hardware and software systems for real-time data collection systems for the Intelligent River at Clemson University, and the design and implementation of spatially-enabled relational databases to support GIS-based analytics and web services for multiple projects. Dr. White holds a Ph.D. in Marine Science from the University of South Carolina where he studied the spatial and temporal dynamics of phytoplankton community structure and water quality in estuarine coastal systems.
