The College of Education offers courses that will lead to add-on licensure/certification in: early childhood education, ESOL (K-12) and middle level education. All add-on licensure/certification courses are held at the University Center in Greenville (UCG).
Students must hold a valid S.C. license/certificate (though in some instances course work toward the add-on may begin during initial candidacy). Add-on licensure/certification is administered through the S.C. Department of Education. See: Steps for adding license/certificate areas. Specific courses that may be needed are listed in the South Carolina Educator Licensure/Certification Manual.
Please refer to the South Carolina Educator Licensure/Certification Manual for the most current license/certification requirements. Please contact Dee Stegelin for more information on coursework offerings that lead to the add-on licensure/certification in early childhood education.
