Session One: July 10-14 (University Center in Greenville) and July 17-21 (online)

Session Two: July 17-21 (University Center in Greenville) and July 24-28 (online)

  • Computer Science Principles

Institute Format: All courses meet for one week of face-to-face instruction (no absences allowed) and one week of online instruction (flexible hours during online week). Teachers are required to participate in BOTH parts of the course. It is not possible to only complete the online portion. All of our courses provide teachers with three (3) hours graduate credit in the content discipline. It is not an option to forego graduate credit.

Registration Fees:
SC Public School Teachers: Regular Registration – $250 April 6 – April 28
Late Registration – $300 April 29 – May 26
Out-of-state or Private School Teachers: $500 per course

Housing and Meals: A block of rooms is reserved at the Holiday Inn on Woodruff Rd for participants. Rooms at this hotel are $114 and reservations can be made by calling 864-678-5555. There is no campus housing available because the institute is housed off campus in Greenville. Meals will be the responsibility of the participant. An hour will be given each day for a lunch break.

Registration steps (ALL steps must be completed in this order to reserve a seat in a course):

All Students – Transcripts and immunization records are NOT required for AP enrollment because you are a non-degree seeking student and will be taking your course off-campus. You may be requested to send these in a generic letter from the admissions office, but you can ignore these requests. You also do NOT need to register for your course in iRoar – Please ONLY follow the steps below to enroll. We will email you by June 1st if you are missing any of the below steps.

For Students New to Non-Degree Seeking Programs at Clemson:

  1. Visit Clemson’s APSI Marketplace registration link: https://secure.touchnet.net/C20569_ustores/web/store_main.jsp?STOREID=67&SINGLESTORE=true
    Scroll to the bottom of the page and click COURSES. Select the institute that you would like to register for,
    enter your personal information, and pay the AP registration fee by credit card or e-check. Note: If your district would like to pay your registration fee, they will have to enter their credit card number or reimburse you. No purchase orders or business checks will be accepted.
  2. Within two weeks of your Marketplace registration, you will receive an email with a link to apply as a non-degree seeking student to the Clemson University Graduate School. You must follow this link and pay the $60 graduate school application fee to confirm your AP registration.
  3. When a decision is made on your application, you will receive an email from the graduate school with a link to the application portal. This is where you will view your decision letter. If accepted to the graduate school, you will see a “Complete Your Decision Form” button within the application portal. Please use this to accept your admittance. This is an important step in your registration process in order to receive academic credit.
  4. Set up your Clemson student account and password prior to attending the institute.
  5. Email a a scanned copy of one of the approved citizenship documents from the list below to regserv@clemson.edu
    In your email, please include your CUID number that you will establish in Step 4 when you set up your Clemson ID and password.

The following documents are accepted:

If you were born after Jan. 1, 1987

  • SC driver's license (if issued after Jan. 1, 2002)

If you were born before Jan. 1, 1987

  • U.S. passport
  • U.S. or U.S. Territory birth certificate
  • Certificate of Naturalization
  • U.S. government issued Consular Report of Birth Abroad
  • Certificate of Citizenship
  • Social Security approval through Federal Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA)

*For Returning Non-Degree Students
Must have been enrolled within the past 6 years and does not include enrollment in past undergraduate or graduate degree programs.

  2. Please complete a re-entrance form at http://www.registrar.clemson.edu/pdf/gradReEnroll.pdf and fax to April Bowen at 864-656-2586 or email at bowen2@clemson.edu

**Refund policy: All registration fees are non-refundable. If you fail to complete any registration steps listed above by June 15th, you will lose your spot in the course and all registration fees will be forfeited.

Location: All courses are offered in Greenville at the University Center. Detailed information will be emailed to participants in early June.

Packet Pickup: Packet pickup will occur from 8:00-8:30 am on the first Monday of each institute. Please plan on picking up your books and course materials during this time.
