Chi Sigma Alpha-Beta Chapter

Clemson University is home to the Beta Chapter of Chi Sigma Alpha, Student Affairs Academic and Professional Honor Society, International. Chi Sigma Alpha is designed to honor and recognize professionals, faculty and graduate students in student affairs for excellence in three pillars: academics, service to the profession and research. Graduate students must have completed one full semester prior to induction.

Chi Sigma Iota: Chi Upsilon Chapter

The Chi Upsilon Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota is an International Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society. Our mission is to promote scholarship, research, professionalism and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the field of counseling. Council for Exceptional Children

The Clemson University Chapter of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the student organization affiliated with the International CEC. CEC is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities and/or the gifted. Clemson’s student chapter promotes positive outcomes for individuals with disabilities and organizes an annual Special Olympics for students with disabilities from Oconee and Pickens Counties.

Council of Teachers of English

The Clemson University Council of Teachers of English is a recognized student affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and South Carolina Council of Teachers of English (SCCTE). Our members include students at the undergraduate and graduate levels and faculty in both English and education who are interested in improving literacy at the elementary, middle, secondary and college levels. CUCTE was formed during the 1998 academic year in order to provide opportunities for students to learn more about literacy programs in our schools and to interact with area literacy teachers. Our members participate in service projects aimed at literacy development and participate in professional development activities at the local (UWP), state (SCCTE) and national level (NCTE). Council of Teachers of Mathematics

Clemson University Student Council of Teachers of Mathematics (CUSCTM) is an organization for Clemson students interested in teaching mathematics, P-12. We are affiliated with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), and have access to great resources for teaching. CUSCTM offers great opportunities for pre-service teachers to network and learn from each other. Our organization's goals include attending SCCTM and NCTM annual conferences, offering tutoring to local students and providing professional development opportunities. The Clemson University Student Council of Teachers of Mathematics was recognized in April 2011 by Omicron Delta Kappa — a Leadership Honor with a $500 check and a plaque for academic achievement.

International Literacy Association Student Council

The Clemson University ILA Student Council is a professional organization affiliated with the International Literacy Association. Its purpose is to promote literacy, literacy instruction and to provide pre-service teachers the opportunity to join a professional organization. Members must be a Clemson student, faculty or staff member and must attend at least one meeting per semester. Meetings are held in September, November, February and April. 

South Carolina Association for the Education of Young Children

SCAEYC is the state affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and the student organization of SCAEYC represents Clemson University’s affiliation with both SCAEYC and NAEYC. Students who are majors in early childhood education, elementary education or related fields that prepare students to work directly with children from birth through grade three are eligible for membership. Membership in the student organization also includes membership in the state and national organizations. Benefits include the nationally refereed journal, Young Children, reduced costs to attend conferences and the opportunity in professional development events that prepare students for their future roles as teachers.

National Science Teachers Association

The Clemson University Chapter of the National Science Teachers Association (CCNSTA) is a recognized student affiliate of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). NSTA supports science teaching P-12 and CCNSTA encourages membership from Clemson students that are interested in science teaching at the elementary, middle or secondary level. NSTA is the largest organization in the world committed to promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all and, as such, they offer fantastic resources for the science classroom and a great network of teachers nationwide. The main goal of CCNSTA is to allow Clemson's pre-service science educators to network with one another. This is an excellent opportunity to share our experiences and grow professionally. CCNSTA is open to anyone with an interest in science education.

National Education Association Aspiring Educators

The Clemson Aspiring Educators Chapter is a recognized student affiliate of the National Education Association (NEA) Aspiring Educators and The Student South Carolina Education Association (SCEA). Our members include students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our organization strives to support, prepare, and empower diverse, aspiring educators with numerous resources, networks, and opportunities. Our mission is to provide a community where future educators feel comfortable to share and grow. Members participate informative seminars, community outreach, and state and national-level events through The SCEA and NEA. Please email clemsonaspiringeducators@gmail.com for more information.
