Financial Literacy Series

Encouraging financial awareness, education and engagement

In an effort to help employees make sound financial decisions, the Office of Human Resources is partnering with the South Carolina Retirement System to provide a series of no-cost financial literacy seminars.

Whether you are beginning your professional career or nearing retirement, the financial literacy seminars will provide you with the tools and resources you need to make informed decisions regarding your financial well-being now and in the future.


About our seminars

The Financial Literacy Series is a program designed to provide personal finance education to Clemson University employees. Our seminars, presentations and online webinars elaborate on key topics like personal finance and debt management, budgeting, investments planning, retirement planning and risk management.

Participating in a seminar

Seminars are currently offered in-person. Date and location specified in registration. Each seminar is offered twice per day; once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

All employees, regardless of their benefits-eligibility status, are welcome to attend.

Seminar frequency

There will be a new set of seminars available each semester.

Social Security and Your Retirement

Description: Social security is an important element of retirement planning. This seminar explores the cost of retirement, as well as options for claiming and maximizing Social Security and how to bridge possible income gaps.

Retirement and Supplement Retirement Plans (SRP)

Description: Learn how to maximize your retirement through contributions to supplement retirement plans. Presenter will discuss the importance of diversification when saving for retirement and how to start contributions as a payroll deduction.
