Description
The Athletic Academic Oversight Committee (AAOC) establishes and oversees systematic review of University academic policies and current practices in relation to academic integrity and institutional control within athletics. The AAOC will:
- provide information and recommendations regarding academic policies/practices for athletics;
- maintain a process for systematic data collection, review, and analysis in areas of potential risk related to academic integrity and institutional control (e.g. athletics admissions, eligibility, grading, advising, class attendance, major/department/course/professor clustering);
- establish and monitor recommended thresholds in areas related to academic integrity and policies that signal need for immediate attention.
The AAOC will provide an annual report to the President with copies to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, the Director of Athletics, and the Faculty Senate.
This committee is authorized and described in the Clemson University Faculty Manual. Changes to its description or composition should be initiated with the current President of the Faculty Senate.
