Who is Dr. Chen?
Liwei Chen is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences. Her research primarily focuses on nutritional and chronic diseases epidemiology (i.e. obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases), maternal and children’s health, systematic review and meta-analysis, design and statistical analysis for cohort studies and clinical trials. She teaches courses in Epidemiological Research and Epidemiology Study Design and Data Analysis.

How Dr. Chen’s research is transforming health care
Liwei is specifically interested in research in the following areas: diet and nutrition in relation to chronic diseases, dietary approaches as a means to prevent and manage chronic diseases, optimal strategies for improving maternal and children’s health, systematic reviews and meta-analysis for evidence-based medicine, comparative Effectiveness Research (CER), and Electronic Health Information/Electronic Medical Records (EHI/EMR).
