Who is Dr. Becker?

Dr. Becker is a Family Medicine Hospitalist at Prisma Health. He has worked as a physician in the office setting, urgent care, and within correctional facilities. Dr. Becker was a physician in the United States Army and a reserve police officer and Medical Director for the SWAT team. He was a co-author of an article in Military Medicine and has contributed to the fourth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder (DSM-IV) Primary Care version. He has taught at the Stony Brook University of Medicine, the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and the Clemson University School of Advanced Nursing. He is currently collaborating in a Telehealth Research project involving double robotics.

How Dr. Becker’s research is transforming health care

Dr. Becker is transforming health care with Telehealth that is coming into full use. Due to restrictions with face-to-face encounters as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the unit he and his team are currently using will allow rounding to be done in a hospital situation virtually, including patient rounds, ER throughput, and meetings.
