Who is Dr. Nagatomi?

Jiro Nagatomi is a professor of bioengineering. His primary research interests include mechanobiology, biomechanics, regenerative medicine, and surgical materials. His lab, the Cell Mechanics and Mechanobiology Laboratory, is currently working in the areas of mechanotransduction of hydrostatic pressure related to urology and cardiovascular diseases, multi-functional hydrogel tissue adhesive, and functional tissue engineering of intervertebral discs.

How Dr. Nagatomi’s research is transforming health care

Nagatomi is working with his research group on cellular mechanism related to bladder dysfunction, tissue engineering of intervertebral disc and application of surgical tissue adhesive to hernia repair.
